The best way to spend a Saturday morning is at the State

Farmers Market- especially on Earth Day! Located right next to Centennial Campus at NC State, the area features a large array of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, honey, baked goods, flowers, herbs, succulents, trees.... all from locally grown sources. I always have a wonderful time talking to the farmers, learning about their way of life and their dedication to agriculture. As a girl always trying to create healthy meals, I checked out the vegetable section for possible salad additions.

I found lots of GREEN!

The conventional fruit and vegetables found in grocery store chains cower compared to the fresh produce offered at farmers markets. The crowds were plentiful, the sky was clear with a bright sun shining down, the colorful flowers were showcasing their beauty, and the local people were smiling.

Happy Earth Day!
